The Weber Q 2000 is one of the most highly rated compact gas barbecues in it’s range with an extremely high level of customer satisfaction. As you would expect from Weber, the build and material are of the highest quality. Despite it's smaller size, you can cook a whole range of delicious dishes all year round. From your sausages and bugers, to roasts and even desserts, you will be able to serve a family dinner or a gourmet feast.

The Weber Q range is designed to be compact and portable making it easy to store and easy to bring with you camping, to the beach or on holiday. It is also perfect for the back garden, deck or balcony, especially if you have limited space. Being a gas barbeque means that it is quick and easy to heat up as well as less messy than coal or briquettes – which the back of your car will likely thank you for! You will need a cylinder of liquid petroleum gas (sold separately). The Q2000 series is fitted with a standard regulator for patio gas cylinders (the Q1000 series uses the dispoable gas canisters but you can buy an adapter for the bigger gas bottles). The Q2000 is perfect for serving 3-4 people.

The lid and body of the barbeque are made from cast aluminium, and the frame is made from glass reinforced nylon making it both light and durable. There are two folding side tables which are handy for preparation and serving. This particular model comes with a portable black stand.

The barbecue itself has one burner, with an output of 12,000 BTU per hour. Basically, this means the amount of heat needed to heat 1 pound of water by 1 degree Farenheit per hour - so it's important because it affects how much fuel your barbeque will use. If you research this online, you will find that people give a guideline of how many BTUs per square inch of cooking area you need for a good barbecue. However, if you do the calculations, you will see that most Weber BBQs have a lower BTU than people recommend. This is becasue the BTU number doesn't tell the whole story. If your barbecue is made from high quality material that maintains the heat well, and has a well designed vent, it will need less power and fuel to achieve the same result as one made from lower quality materials. Weber barbecues use the highest quality materials, so the BTU doesn't need to be as high for an efficient, effective result, and uses less fuel. If you are looking at the Q1200 as well, it is useful to know that the Q1200 has an output of 8,500. This makes the Q 2000 a little heavier, but does give a but more cooking power.

That brings us on to dimensions – The Q2000 is 129 x 130.6 x 74.9 cm with the lid open and the tables unfolded. The cooking area is also a little larger than the Q1200 – it is 54 x 39 cm – giving you space to cook approximately 11 hamburgers at one time! The Q1200 has a lid which is about 3cm higher than the Q2000 which gives a bit more room for larger roasts.

To light the barbeque, it's a simple as twisting the infinite control burner to the required setting and then pushing the ignition button. Wait for the barbecue to heat up, and you are ready to cook! Use the control burner to regulate the heat settings as you are cooking. To see these features in action, watch the video above. Again, comparing to the Q1200, this particular model doesn't have a thermometer guage. However, as a guide, the "High" setting runs at about 260 C, "Medium" at 200 C and "Low" at 150 C (approx 500, 400 & 300 Farenheit).

This Q 2000 model comes with a removable catch pan and 3 handy tool hooks. The catch pan is great for catching all the fat that drips down from your food while cooking and makes it easier to clean. To make the job even easier again, you can line the catch pan with disposable drip pans.

The grate is one of the most important parts of your new barbecue - the Q2000 has a porcelain enameled, cast iron grate which makes it a fantastic conductor and retainer of heat, as well as being easier to clean and care for. As opposed to a raw cast iron grate, the porcelain enamel coating never needs to be seasoned berore use, and also gives a durable non-stick surface, even at high temperatures. For more detailed information on how to care for your grates, read this article. You might find it useful to get a brush and some cleaner to take the best care of your new barbecue. Weber don't advise cleaning the grates in the dishwasher as the hot steam could damage the coating. Another handy feature of this grate is that it comes in two halves. This makes easy to remove, and also  means that you can replace one half with a griddle so you can cook a variety of food at the same time.

Weber has plenty of compatible accessories (tools, thermometers, grill baskets etc) which you can browse here, and a durable Weber Q2000 Cover for storing your new Weber Q2000.

If you really want to cook like a pro, why not consider investing in the Weber Connect Smart Grilling Hub? This is a fantastic piece of kit that connects your barbecue to your smart phone and gives you tips, timings and temperatures to get perfect results every time. This hub can be used with any Weber barbecue.
